Hello! I am 48 years old and have worked with kids of all ages for almost 23 years. I have a BA in Education. I have worked in the non profit world, in social work, and in child card for many years. I have been a nanny for several amazing families over the years. Most recently I worked as an educator at an outdoor forest school. I am a really fun person who loves to care for kiddos and pets. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I most recently was with a family for 9 months with their daughter who is now 20 months. I absolutely adore working with kids in that 1-4 year age range. They learn so much so fast and when they begin communicating with you it is such a fun time.

I was also nanny for a wonderful family back in Michigan where I am from for many years. Those kiddos are now teenagers and we are still in touch.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am a DIY and crafter. I love all things art. So I can always find a fun craft project to do with the kids. It’s amazing what you can do with some paper, crayons and a cardboard box! I was also a college soccer player, and played basketball in high school. So I love sports as well. I like being active and enjoy really exploring and playing with kids. I also love a good movie, but believe there is much to explore beyond the screens and that time is best limited.

The most important part about being a nanny...

It is most important to me to be a support to the child. Their safety and their growth is of the utmost of importance to me. If a child is expressing themselves, I will support and guide them 100%.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with children with varying degrees of disabilities as a middle school teacher, at day care centers and in the non profit world. I’m pretty adaptable and can work with a family on what is best for their kids and how I can be best for them. My nephew is an amazing little man with autism, he was born at 26 weeks and was 1.6 pounds! He is now 7 and doing amazing!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Most recently the little girl I cared for got really into Sesame Street. Once in awhile she was allowed to watch an episode of the show. We watched one on her favorite character making an airplane out of boxes. She and I then turned a large box into an airplane, equipped with wings, steering wheel and sticker buttons and knobs. I tied it with some rope and we spent a whole lot of time out in the yard, me just pulling her around in her airplane. The smile on her face is imprinted on my heart.
