I graduated from Illinois State University in spring 2025 with a degree in Recreational Therapy and I am excited to continue my education in the fall. I have over three years of nannying and childcare experience, and my background also includes working as a special education substitute teacher in the Sullivan school district, serving as a recreation leader for individuals with disabilities, and completing an internship at a children’s residential behavioral health facility. Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love getting kids away from technology and enjoying the outdoors. Bike rides, walking, going to the park, etc. I also love playing games, coloring, and reading stories with children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important part about being a nanny is being reliable and responsible. It takes a lot for a parent to trust someone else with their child. Being responsible with schedules, meals, and routines can ease some of the stress for parents. Being reliable is also important because it helps to build trust not only with the parents, but with the children as well.

My experience with special needs children...

I worked as an Inclusion Coordinator for the Bloomington Illinois park district for a summer during my undergrad. In this job I would assess children with special needs and match them with an aide for summer camp! I would also spend many hours crafting sensory bags and kits specialized to each child to help them have their most successful experience at camp. Most recently, I have been a substitute special education for a mixed grade level classroom. The population of the class being comprised of students with down syndrome, autism, and other disorders. It has been my favorite job so far!!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment would have to be when I was nannying during my undergrad as a part time job. It was one of my tougher placements as one of the children had behavioral needs that would often throw a wrench in the plans. One day, we were all playing outside on the trampoline with the water sprinkler and all of us were laughing, smiling, and having the time of our lives. I just remember the smiles on their faces and how truly happy they were that day. It is one of my fondest memories.
