The most important part about being a nanny...
I was taking a destination-errand-walk with one young charge when I suddenly realized that there was a large spiderweb right in front of my face -- complete with spiders! To avoid walking straight through the web I flailed and threw my weight in a different direction, mildly injuring my foot when I fell off of the sidewalk. Now, from a child's point of view, the visual of the flailing and the falling (accompanied by what was reportedly a very undignified sound of horror) was hilarious. She was crying laughing.
There was not a better person I could have been with when this event happened, because having the perspective of this absolutely wonderful child with me turned the situation from one that would have been primarily very frustrating into one of shared laughter. She still brings it up.
