I myself taught theater to 5-6 year olds for two years. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

-I was a babysitter my entire life.
-I taught theater to 5-6 year-olds for a few years.
-I taught music to 5-10 year-olds for a few years.

-I work in marketing full-time for a pediatric office.
-My mom has been a kindergarten teacher for 30+ years, and I'd often help in her classroom.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Sports, walking, reading, making up and performing skits, teaching / playing music, arts and crafts, easy recipes. If a child is interested in an activity, I am happy to do it!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Patience, communication, understanding and safety are four major pieces of being a good childcare advocate. Children don't have the same communication skills that we do, so it's important to understand how to be patient and communicate with them in ways they understand, while keeping them safe. I also think it's incredibly important to make their emotions feel safe and happy - sometimes a stranger watching over them can be scary for a kid, so making sure they trust me is hugely important.

My experience with special needs children...

Children with autism and other neurodivergent conditions, including ADHD and anxiety.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I babysat a 5-year-old girl once. We created a skit complete with "costumes", songs and everything and performed it for her parents when they got home! She was so excited and happy, and that made me happy.
