The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe every child deserves to feel safe, respected, and genuinely heard. Building trusting relationships where children feel comfortable being themselves, expressing their emotions, and learning at their own pace is very important to me. I believe children learn best through play, exploring the world around them, and various opportunities to develop independence with support and encouragement. Patience, consistency, empathy, gental guidance, and clear age-appropriate boundaries help children feel secure, build confidence, and thrive. Every child is different, so I enjoy getting to know who they are and adapting my approach to meet their individual needs while working closely with parents to create consistency and support.

The most important part about being a nanny...

It’s hard to choose just one moment because there have been so many that have meant a lot to me. One that I’ll never forget was finding out my nanny child had been begging her parents for overalls because she wanted to match me. I wear overalls all the time, so hearing that completely melted my heart. She even started calling them “Casseralls” because, to her, they were “Cassidy overalls.” To this day, that’s still what she calls them. It was such a simple moment, but it reminded me how much children look up to the people they trust and how important it is to lead by example.
Looking back, though, I think what I’m most proud of is the relationships I’ve built with the families I’ve worked with. To this day, I still stop by and visit most of them because they became such a big part of my life. Watching the children grow over the years and knowing I got to help raise them is something I’ll never take for granted. Those relationships are what make this career so meaningful to me.
