At the church I use to attend for almost 10 years I volunteered every Wednesday night with Awana, youth services, and special events. I also have experience with special needs children/teenagers and young adults. I also worked in a daycare when I was younger.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy nature walks if they are old enough and seeing their little faces light up when they learn something new. I think reading is always a good activity, especially when it's nap/bed time. I'm happy to do whatever your child/children's current interests are as well. Playing with blocks, engaging in imaginative play, and helping them with homework. I like to help children learn by incorporating educational games, outdoor adventures, and creative play into our day. I'm also really big in to crafts and making things.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me is the opportunity to be a part of a child's growth and to provide them with a safe and nurturing environment is the most important thing. I believe that helping them learn, grow, and succeed, is also extremely important.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with special needs children as well as individuals who have down syndrome, mental handicaps, severe delays in learning, and severe disabilities. I have also worked with handicapped individuals who were not mobile.
