A little bit about me

My name is Cecilia! I have several years of experience working with children of many ages directly, plus years of working with parents to support and reach family goals. I love working to support healthy families! I love spending time outdoors and live by the motto— “there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes.”

I have a 5 year old son who loves making new friends and going on adventures. He will be starting kindergarten in the fall, but then I’d bring my son with me when caring for your child(den) in the afternoons, depending on the times my services are required. I love helping kids learn and explore their world. I can provide structured, developmentally appropriate playtime and activities based on family goals and child interests, OR follow your child’s lead and let them make the decisions about our day (obviously within reason)!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked as a preschool teacher in a childcare center. After I left that job, I had several families ask for me to nanny or open my own daycare so they could keep their kids with me, so after nannying for a bit, I started my own daycare! When I moved back to Colorado, I worked with parents through the program Parents as Teachers for two years, then I moved on to working with preschoolers at Head Start in Pueblo. We relocated to Colorado Springs where I worked privately with a family for 11 months, and am now currently working for CYS on Fort Carson, but I am looking to work more one on one with a few kiddos!

The most important part about being a nanny...

After picking up my nanny kid from school and having our after-school snack, we played a board game and my nanny kiddo needed to count. She counted perfectly then said “remember when you taught me to count at daycare? We sang all the songs and I learned to count.” It helped me see that I was making a difference and helping her learn even during the everyday activities.
