A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Cecilia, I am 19 years old. I come from a large family and I have 17 siblings. I have 4 younger than I am which I have helped take care of growing up. I also have 4 nieces and 6 nephews and have helped babysit all of them. One of my sisters has 4 kids and they all have SMA. My 9 year old niece has it more severe than her 3 younger brothers. She is in a wheel chair and is not able to do most daily tasks on her own. I have been helping take care of her doing things such as bathing, getting dressed, daily hygiene, etc. I have also helped tutor them along with helping maintain their household. As well as this, I am a CNA and I currently work in a nursing home. I have absolutely loved being around kids all my life and I am excited to see where this takes me.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My sister was having a hard time after giving birth to her son and needed some help. I took care of him for a week, she would stop buy to say hi and to bring some necessities.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to sit down and play board games, color, play outside, and read. I enjoy doing crafts together or just sitting down and listening to them talk about their days or things they enjoy doing.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a 9 year old handicap niece who is not able to do much for herself. She is not able to dress herself or put any weight on her legs. I bathed her several times a week and would help get her dressed, get her up into her chair, which we had to use a hoyer lift for. She is incredibly smart but physically she needed a lot of help. I am also have experience with down syndrome. I helped out with one 8 year old boy who has down syndrome. I was there for almost 2 weeks and would watch him while his mom was at work. I would help him with daily tasks throughout the day.
