Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Before I had children I kept all the kids on my row at church. While my kids were young I worked as a substitute teacher in the school system. Then when my children were old enough to go to middle school. I went back to school to get my associates degree. I studied with my children and we work together daily for me to complete college and for them to complete each grade. As I began to have grandchildren I kept them whenever their parents needed me, and I still do that from time to time.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Reading, watching educational TV show shows according to their grade level. Talking playing in making them feel special.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To work with someone child to the point that they know that they can trust you and that you will only do what’s best for their child based on what they want you to do and what you already know to do with their approval.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked with special-needs children in the school system when I subbed. I have a grandson 12 yrs old that was born at 2 lbs. 9 oz. and he has a delay in his studies and focus. I have worked with him since birth. I have a new grandson that’s two years old and he has a speech challenge and we work together for him to understand what we are saying, and the things we ask to do. I know to give them high praise and to make them feel excited about all accomplishments.

I can give my granny moment, but not so much a nanny moment.
When you see your work being done with children, like showing them how to get down from the couch or from a bed without hurting their selves. These are things that you teach them daily to help them to learn. We can’t stand back and expect them to know. You have to actually work with a child encouraging them and make them feel good about things that they have learned.
