More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
When I was young I used to babysit my neighbors kids and help them with their homework like math etc. I volunteer with daycare to help families that need assistance with their kids.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Create a book: making a book can be a great way to get kids thinking creatively and also keep them entertained for a long time. I love make up a dance: For older kids, to challenge them to create choreography for one of their favorite songs. Get involved with the creative process and suggest their own ideas, too. When the parents come home they can perform their dance. I love doing a scavenger hunt it a great way to keep kids engaged and having fun. We can do scavenger hunt in the house or outside. I love to bake I feel like baking can be fun way to entertain children and to create something delicious. I love to invent a new game, it can help kids use their creativity by creating an original game. One of my favorite is playing make believe. Often, kids have their own interests and ideas, so it’s important to listen to the individual child when I babysitting. Some might not like arts and crafts projects or board games. I love to encourage them to do activities they enjoy.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for the children in your care. This includes fostering their emotional, social, and cognitive development, as well as ensuring their physical wellbeing. Building a strong and trusting relationship with both the children and their parents is also crucial, as it helps create a positive and harmonious family dynamic. Good communication, patience, and a genuine love for children are essential qualities for a successful nanny
My experience with special needs children...
What is my experience with special needs children? I would say off the top of your head it is hard work, very challenging with a tremendous amount of stress. The rewards completely outweigh all of that, when you see that child smile for the first time, or they say a word or sound for the first time cannot be described. My area of expertise is autism, speech and language and behavior. Watching a child grow m, step by step. When a child under your care can finally say a sound /letter/ or word it can give you a type of euphoria. It shows that all those hours of repetitive sentences & words or skills sets have finally gone in or clicked. And they all, no matter how small the improvement it will make a huge difference to that child’s & families life. Down side to community to a special needs family when you commit, you commit. Some children with special needs don’t do " change’ easy, it’s even harder for children with special needs than it is for main stream. So you’re in for the long haul.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment is to watch them grow, teach them new things, and celebrate each new stage in their life right alongside them. I remember when I was a nanny for this 4y old and I would sit in her little kitty pool and paint each other with watercolors. It was her favorite activity that season. To hear that laugh, along with the sensation of my shins being pained blue, was pure heaven. She’s 8 now and no longer my charge, but I love that kid with all my heart to this day.
