More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have extensive experience working with children and youth from infancy through young adulthood in childcare, mentoring, tutoring, recreational, community, and professional settings. My background includes nannying, volunteering with children and families, youth mentoring and tutoring, and multiple summers as a camp counselor working with young children.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
For indoor activities, I enjoy reading, coloring, helping with homework when applicable, playing with toys, and finding fun, age-appropriate ways to incorporate learning into play. Outdoors, I enjoy going for walks or bike rides, gardening, visiting parks and playgrounds, and finding opportunities to stay active and explore outside.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important aspects of nannying to me are ensuring a child’s safety and providing consistent, supportive care. Children should feel safe, comfortable, and secure with the person caring for them, and I believe building that trust is essential. I also think it is incredibly important to understand and respect each family’s unique dynamics, routines, and parenting preferences. Taking the time to learn how a family operates allows me to provide consistency and helps children feel comfortable and adjust naturally to having a new caregiver in their lives.
My experience with special needs children...
I have extensive experience supporting children with developmental, behavioral, and emotional needs, including working directly with neurodivergent children on the Neuropsychiatric Special Care Unit at Children’s Hospital Colorado. I have a particular passion for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and truly enjoy working with children on the autism spectrum. I feel confident providing patient, individualized support during periods of social, emotional, or behavioral dysregulation and am comfortable working with children with a wide range of developmental, intellectual, physical, and mental health needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nannying memories was teaching a child how to stand for the very first time and then watching him proudly do it all on his own. Seeing the pure joy and sense of accomplishment on his face was incredibly special. Being able to support him as he reached such an exciting developmental milestone is a moment I truly cherish and will never forget!
