painting! sorry parents but I love to paint and color and do all kinds of colorful things with kids. I also enjoy reading stories and being read to by children as a way to help them with their reading skills. I like to talk to children, and listen to them more, they are much more intuitive and fascinating than we give them credit for.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think being a nanny is important because community is important. Before communities raised children and helped one another, and I think that in our American individualized culture we have lost some of that. Nannies bring back some of that tradition. I will care for your children while you provide for them. The families I've worked for in turn have cared for me while I provided for my own family in times that I've needed that grace. Because there's no greater act of humility than asking for help and there's no greater honor than saying "yes"
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment is when I walk into the house for my shift and my kiddo runs up to me with a big old smile. it let's me know I'm doing my job right and that I'm loved just as much as I love them.
