A little bit about me

My name is Cherry or Ms Turner. I have a super old soul. I am from Washington DC. I currently attend The University of The District of Columbia; there I study psychology and special education. I want to transition in the future or for grad school into family science. I heard about this job through online job searching. I am looking for growth and a long term position and just something different from teaching a full class. I love kids and I have worked with all ages thus far. k-12th. Most recently have worked with precious fourth graders. I want to be able to grow in other areas. Everywhere in life has something to offer and teach you. I want to open those doors and learn more qualities to help support my blossoming in the future. Fun fact: I like collecting rocks and sky photographs :). I think they are really cool..I love to examine the minerals inside.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been teaching and working with kids for about 5 years. I am currently in school for psychology/special education. I am almost done just about two courses left. I recently did a few gigs on quarantine with students. I worked at two High schools for about 2 months working intimately with students who needed assistance. Recently I worked with fourth graders under DCPS. I worked with 24 students and it was from March-June. During the summer I worked with High school students and mentored them through UDC.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love anything creative. I love doing DIYs, outdoor adventures, yoga, painting, you name it:). I am such a big kid, I had to grow up pretty fast so I enjoy being able to relive my child hood being surrounded about kids.

My experience with special needs children...

I am currently in school and have worked with students whom have disabilities as well as adults. I have worked with an entire class at Wilson High school for a few months. I did a couple of students at Creative Minds School and EL Haynes.
