"Cheyenne is so kind and respectful. She is very knowledgeable when it comes to caring for people especially children. She has always given great care for my children when she was working with them. She always knew how to calm my children down during difficult times and during outbursts. She listened to my concerns and addressed them with the upmost support and respect. She helped my children learn how to communicate in a calm way and how to express their feelings and emotions the proper way. I would definitely allow her to work with my children again. She did amazing with them. She is a true angel and amazing care giver!!"

"We had a child with complex special needs. Aiden was born with hydrocephalus and had to have dozens of surgeries in his lifetime. Aiden was blind, had epilepsy, and was wheelchair bound unless up with a walker and full assistance. My husband and I work full-time and have limited family support as we moved out of Texas. Cheyenne was a god send to us. She managed our home better than me on most days. She treated Aiden like he was her own. She made us aware that she was happy to have him everywhere. Cheyenne made Aiden’s quality of life more than I can explain. She managed medications, appointments, so much fun, and ALL of our household chores. Can you imagine that she did that and still found time for him to be a part of community activities at our local church so he could be with kids his age? I will forever be grateful for the life Cheyenne gave our son. Because we could work ; we extended Aiden’s life as much as medically possible and that’s something we can’t be more grateful for."

More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve worked in Early Childhood Education, Pediatric Hospice, and In-Home Therapy for children.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love hands-on Montessori approaches to incorporate fun and learning together! As an ABA therapist I am an expert in pairing fun with learning. Almost like sneaking a little veggie in a smoothie. I love art, nature sensory walks, community outings, and running social groups! My god children are in sports so I thrive in busy schedules and maintaining fun with structure.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is meeting your families where they are at. It’s so important to be flexible, understanding, supportive, and practical. I’ve worked with families who were on carnivore based diets spending $80 a meal and families who lived a minimum wage life where I made $80 stretch for a week of meals for their children. I’ve couponed for families and I’ve created financial plans for others. You never know until you sit and meet with a family what their needs are. This isn’t a cut and paste position- this is care for a child but ultimately a family as a unit. I think it’s so important to take a “whole-family” approach while maintaining full 1 to 1 care with the children. It helps the house run smoothly and effectively- creating the best environments for all.
My experience with special needs children...
I am a certified ABA therapist and also worked 1:1 with a child on hospice care. My special needs experiences include but are not limited to: G-tube feeding, VNS seizure procedures, medication management, ADHD/Autism/ODD, ARFID, apraxia and AAC device communication, tracheostomy care, and children in trauma/foster/kinship care.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The sweetest moment I’ve ever had was hearing our special needs 8 year old tell his mother he loved her for the first time after 4 years of working on language. It is a moment I will never forget!
