Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Once I had aged out of my daycare happily chose to volunteer there. I during the summer I was the assistant for both the art and science programs offered. I would help the teacher with setup and clean up, and aid the students with their projects. I also have a large extended family, and at most gatherings I keep and eye on and actively play with all the kids.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love going outside, playing a variety of sports with kids, from badminton to soccer to baseball (pretty much whatever the kids are into). I love drawing and doing art projects with kids. I have also been the subject of many hairstyling projects.
My experience with special needs children...
My youngest sister is on the autism spectrum, and had a diagnosed mood disorder. The kids of a close family friend has severe ADHD. I am very familiar with and use to working with kids that have mental health disorders. I've worked with 2 different set of twins and each set had a child that required nebulizer treatments. One of the twins also had Cronic Lung Disease, and trouble keeping down foods and putting on weight and required extra attention to her food prep and overall health.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my families had a set of premature twins whose motor skills were behind due to their size and health conditions. The girls were aost 2 and the smaller still wasnt walking. I remember one day looking over from playing with one of the girls and seeing the smaller standing on her own with a determined looking on her face. She took a step, and I was so excited to see this milestone, and panicked because I had to rush to get my phone so I could send a video to her parents of it happening.
