Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve spent years working with kids in just about every setting imaginable, which means I’ve gotten to see child development from pretty much every angle. On the formal side of things, full-time elementary teaching and student teaching in middle and high schools gave me a great foundation in managing big groups, tailoring lessons, and figuring out how to connect with different age groups. But I've always loved mixing things up, which is how I ended up teaching at outdoor education camps, using nature and hands-on activities to build kids' teamwork and confidence. I’ve also spent time doing summer live-out nannying, which was a great opportunity to focus on one-on-one care, manage daily schedules, and really partner closely with my nanny kids and their family.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love creating new crafts that enrich children's creativity, giving educational hikes, and helping kids work together as a team to become leaders. My first year of teaching has also taught me that those first initial steps into literacy were educational activities feels like a game has been something I enjoy immensely.

The most important part about being a nanny...

What I love most about working with kids is getting the chance to truly understand how they tick and what makes each of them unique. There is nothing more rewarding than helping them hit those big milestones, whether that's reaching their stretch growth in literacy or mastering a life skill like tying their shoes. My favorite part of nannying and teaching are those hands-on moments where we get to learn and explore together, whether we're making a mess with slime, baking cookies, or heading outside to build shelters and discover sea life. Being able to combine real personal growth with that kind of genuine fun is exactly why teaching and nannying are so incredibly fulfilling to me.
