A little bit about me

My name is Chloe. I am an elementary education major at the University of Louisville. Most of my experience working with kids has been in school settings where I work in classrooms assisting teachers. I have also worked with a non-profit after school enrichment program and have been a nanny for a baby that I met when he was three months old. My education has given me the ability to understand children's development and psychology and how this can apply to their education. I am very open to helping kids with their homework and studying. I will go the extra mile to make sure that children are engaged and stimulated. This could include park excursions and nature hikes, visiting museums, watching documentaries, going to the zoo, and many other activities. I am also happy to help around the household, doing light housekeeping, laundry, cooking/meal-prep, pet care, and more. I have online classes, but my schedule is extremely flexible.

Volunteer at GGC, an after school enrichment program for students. The goal of this program is to help students choose a superpower (talent) they have and combine it with an act of charity to create a project that makes the world a better place.
Classroom experience with students ranging from Kindergarten to 8th grade, assisting with assignments and activities in the class.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important part about being a nanny is safety. This of course means making sure that a child is physically safe at all times, but to me it is also important to make sure that children feel safe emotionally too. I want any kids that are spending time with me to feel comfortable, supported, and loved. Building a good healthy relationship with children can take time and effort but it is so worth it to see that that child is genuinely happy.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment of being a nanny happened about 1 month after meeting Miles. He didn't have any books yet, maybe because he was only a few months old, but I picked one from the library and brought it over to his house. After he woke up that morning and I got him dressed and fed, I sat in the glider with him and read to him. I had never seem him that engaged other than when he stares at the TV. He loved looking at all the pictures and hearing my voice as I told the story.
