A little bit about me

My name is Choyce Nadine Brown. I love caring for children. I recently moved to Apple Valley after teaching K-4 in South Korea. I also used to take care of the toddlers at Cottonwood Church in Los Alamitos, Ca, and I was a babysitter long before that when I was a youth. I am a happy, kind, diligent, and honest person who enjoys being active and nature. My goal is to become an elementary school teacher here in the U.S. I have a Master's of Science degree in International Apparel Management, a Bachelor's of Science in Apparel Merchandising & Management, an Associate's of Arts degree in Fashion Merchandising, and a TEFL certification to teach English as a foreign language. I briefly worked for a cleaning service when I graduated, so I don't mind cleaning up, and I can tutor kids with their schoolwork to help them improve. The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important parts about being a nanny is safety, consistency, priority, and flexibility. Keeping the children safe by remaining vigilant and staying within a safe routine is important. Setting healthy boundaries and showing consistent behaviors is key as well as always keeping the children as the priority. I believe remaining flexible to any arising issues is also important, to be able to resolve them quickly in the children's best interest.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I used babysit, a little girl who had beautiful long red hair. She loved Ariel (The little mermaid), and would watch it everyday. She knew all the songs and would dance the house as the character. I could tell that she was identifying with the essence of that character. It was a magical experience to watch her connect in that way. How children come alive when watching animation is a part of their childhood journey. They sing the songs and begin imagining themselves as the characters. I have fun watching their imagination develop into creativity.
