I have 20+ years experience with caring for children of all ages. I have worked with newborns to 16 years of age. I have cared for them in their homes and have also worked with children for many years at an ice-rink.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Indoor activities: creating tents out of blankets and pillows, doing arts and crafts, reading stories, hide and go seek, baking, playing board games, building with Legos, making maps for indoor treasure hunts, learning with flash cards/books, baby sign language, and anything that sparks the child’s imagination.
Outdoor activities: going for walks, playing at parks, throwing the football around, playing catch, climbing trees, trips to the zoo/wild animal park, going to the birch aquarium, setting up a tent and having a picnic, blowing bubbles, arts/crafts, skateboarding, ice-skating, and meeting up with play dates.

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is the unconditional love you get to share with one another. I enjoy seeing them grow into their own beings. Love to see their curiosity guide them to learn and ask questions. Children have a light that is so pure and bright and I believe their smiles and laughter are healing. They are beings that have no filter when expressing their feelings. It’s something that I really enjoy.
My experience with special needs children...
My only experience with special needs is caring for a child that had cancer.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I had a mother share a story about her little girl I cared for from 2 months to 4 years of age. It was my day off and she said they were going on a morning walk and her daughter would every so often stop to hug a tree. The mom said right away she knew it was a thing between us. I explained how I spoke to her little one about the importance of trees and how nature is apart of us. She sent me a photo of her daughter hugging the tree. Thought it was so sweet.
