A little bit about me

Hello,
I am a United States Air Force Veteran. Trained in service as a Chef. With CPR/BLS certification. I have spent the past 10 years as a home maker to my 2 lovely little ones that are 7 and 10 years old and currently attending school. I have over 20 years of babysitting experience ( unpaid) caring for and nurturing children between infant ages all the way through the teen years. I teach kids classes for my Church and have a good amount of experience in planning age appropriate kids crafts, simple guided chores and overall life skills building. I love being around children and teaching them something & being apart of the new word learned or skill taught. One of the best things I delight in is seeing the "I got it" expression on a childs face,it is truly precious ! I am in search of a part time Nanny position that I can work between 8:30am -1:00pm Monday-Friday. I am available **occasionally** Friday night. Which can be determined in advance. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My previous child care experience includes volunteering with the Boys and Girls club, 20 years organized babysitting with my Church , instructing Sunday kids classes, and being a fulltime homemaker for my 3 children over the past 11 years. Also a parallel experience is that I spent a year volunteering in the recreation department of a luxury elderly home in my youth. The duties included leading, instructing and participating in crafts,activities and morale boosting experiences for the elder population.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Well some of the activities I enjoy doing with my children are to seize the moment. I do have a framework plan for the day to day with certain things that need to be accomplished. Although in my experience the best days are the days when it rains and my kids and I splash in puddles, go for walks around the beach, march in our own impromptu parades with all the noisiest kitchenware. Most of the fun is had in the inventing of instruments. We go adventuring into the hidden corners of the backyard, or use walkie talkies through out our grocery market excursions that turn into scavenger hunts with designated teams and call signs. For me the best activities are the ones that, your teaching life skills while playing with children.

My favorite Nanny/babysitter moments include when strangers have seen me with 5 or more kids and none of them look like me but they all (the kids) are loving towards me and other people will think they belong to me. I love that moment when I am no longer just a sitter the children now consider me family and also expect to be treated as such. When the children's parents will talk to me about things concerning their kids because I am around them enough to be able to give them insight. The very best part when I am around kids frequently and they still want to know when they will see me again, that is the best feeling ever !!
