is connection. I value my relationship with my nanny kids as well as my relationship with my employers. I call my nanny style “relationship based”. I don’t talk down to children, I talk to them as a person, because they are people. Children respond to this and thoroughly enjoy my company because they feel valued in our relationship. I spend my time getting to know them, asking questions, and making sure they are comfortable being theirselves.
The most important part about being a nanny...
It was many years ago but I will never forget it! It was pouring down rain, I’m talking BUCKETS of rain. I had just pulled up to the house with my two nanny kids and I said, “Quick! Let’s put on our bathing suits and dance in the rain!” That’s exactly what we did and it was so much fun and such a special memory! Rather than being upset that we couldn’t go to the pool that day, we made the best of it getting muddy and soaked in the rain!
