A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Chyala and I am a mom of a 18 month old boy. I practice gentle parenting with my son, but if that’s not what you prefer that is a ok too! I have previously babysat/nannied two boys before I had my son. I graduated high school in 2018 and plan to return to college once my child is also in school. I was previously First Aid/CPR certified in GA. I have always been great with children-of all ages! I am also a substitute teacher for SWCSD2. I’m an extremely open person and hope to become your nanny!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I often volunteered at my local daycare/preschool in high school to play with the children and help them learn. I now currently work in the school system as a substitute teacher! Typically for SPED classrooms. I love my job and can’t get enough of the kids!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I deeply enjoy being outside (when it is nice of course) in the sunshine! Whether it be playing in water, throwing a ball around, or just swinging on a swing set. Although, inside time is nice as well. I enjoy coloring, reading, cooking (helps with fractions and a great basic life skill), and puzzles. I’m a very “go with the flow” person, so whatever the child typically likes to do I’ll follow suit.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important part about being a nanny is loving/treating the child/children as you would your own.. and to know when to have fun! Kids grow up so fast these days and it’s so nice to be able to let them be kids.

My experience with special needs children...

I babysat a boy with cerebral palsy and autism while I was in high school. It was definitely a learning experience, but so enriching. My cousin also had cerebral palsy and he was deaf as well. I had another cousin (she was much older, but not mentally capable of taking care of herself) who has William Syndrome and I would often help “watch” her. I have also subbed for many special education paraprofessionals and have worked first-hand with many special needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Hands down when I taught my two most recent kids how to dive off the diving board and swim without a life vest. I was so proud of them both (6 and 9 years old) for being brave!
