A little bit about me

Hi my name is Citlalli, I am currently a full time receptionist at Galpin Ford. I am 20 and I am also in school to get my degree. I work there every day but weekends, from 8am-4pm. I am looking for a part time job working with kids since I am currently in school to be in the child development department and would eventually like to minor in social work. I have never worked in a day care but since I was 14 I would take care of my cousins and baby nieces when my family would go for their daily basketball games for fun at the park for only 2 hrs. As I got older my mom did have two more kids and I do then and now consistently take care of them when my mom needs time to work at home. I’m finishing up a few classes to get my AA and eventually transfer to CSUN to get my BA in child development and minor in social work. As of right now most of my classes are online and have time to do 2 jobs since I am trying to save up to eventually own a home and convert into a daycare :)

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love being a kid myself which is why I chose this career path. I love the way they like to view things when they play. They have such amazing imagination and I loved to be and play a part of it. Whether it is to be Superman or Cinderella I’m in! I love doing arts and craft especially painting!! I love playing tag or even having playful picnics :)

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters most in being a nanny is having all eyes on them from the moment your step in there is left alone being with the kid. Being able to interact A kid and making sure that they are having their life of their time as they should it’s one of the most important things to me.A kid and making sure that they are having their life of their time as they should it’s one of the most important things to me. Being able to show them that they are safe even if their parents aren’t around. Making sure that they feel that they’re comfortable enough to ask me if they are hungry do you want to go outside and play not being scared of the person who is taking care of them.

My experience with special needs children...

I was in a special needs class my high school year and would help teachers with my wonderful kids my 12th grade year. We would do activists in groups so I had at least 4 of these wonderful kids to help if they ever needed help cutting, coloring, or even pasting stuff. It taught me to be patience with each individual as they were all unique in their own ways.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Honestly kids are just funny to me. Anything thing they say it is funny to me because let me tell you kids have jokes and they might be not be grown up jokes but they are funny and just talking to kids I love. They are so intelligent at such A young age and it is up to us to recognize it and take knowledge so that they feel comfortable and confidence in what they say. I guess everything I do with a kid is memorable because everything they do and they experience, is and what should be as being a kid.
