Throughout college I did a lot of volunteering (2 years total) in the family ministry at my church. I would have done more but had to step away during Covid… My kiddos there were K-5 :)

I think what’s most important when watching kids is active listening. Feeling heard and encouraged is super important to kiddos

I don’t have a lot of experience with special needs kids, though I have worked with some, just not one on one
The most important part about being a nanny...
I’ve not been a nanny before… but a sweet moment I’ve had with my kids… dang there are so many… Well I really loved talking to one of the girl’s at my church. She was really into D&D and had a bunch of little books on it. She was slowly teaching me to speak Draconic! haha
Oh! At a summer camp I did with my church, there was a little girl who started wearing my hat, then she borrowed my jacket and put it around her waist. I started to realize that she was slowly taking on my style and becoming a mini me lol
And there was this boy who was really going through a lot… and he had some behavioral issues… it was really special to me that after some time I was able to get him to open up to me a little, and I feel I had an easier time working with him than others as a result
Also! When I had to move home during Covid, the kiddos all made me little cards. That meant so much
I really just want kiddos to feel heard and supported… any moment where I can make that happen is special :)
