When I was able to calm down a child that had been having a meltdown. After they calm down they cleaned the mess they made, as we talked about why it happened, once I understood the feelings we made a plan on how we can handle what caused the meltdown before it's too much, and if it's too much that I can help. It was very wonderful to see this in practice when they asked for help with their feelings, allowing us to work through them together.

Hello! My name is Cambria, I am 23 years old. I recently graduated from University of California, Santa Cruz in March of 2022 with my Bachelor's of Arts in community studies.
I have always enjoyed working with children and have babysat from a young age. I babysat and nannied throughout college and once I graduated I immediately applied to be a preschool teacher. While I love getting to know so many children and families, I have found that nannying provides me a better work-life balance and also ensures I can care for children to the fullest.
I care for children primarily using the Reggio Emilia philosophy which is a child-led approach that focuses on a wholistic view of children's behavior. The Reggio approach provides a balance between structure and flexibility. I have the most experience working with children 2-10 years old, however I very much enjoy infants as well. I have limited newborn experience, but am very willing to learn.
