A little bit about me

Hi my name is Clarees, I am a 20 year old nursing student. I am in college right now to eventually become a pediatric nurse. I love working with kids and taking care of them. I am the oldest daughter from a family of 6, so taking care of kids is something that naturally came to me and has made me want to work with kids as a career. Whenever I see a kid who needs help I automatically go into mom mode or older sister mode and be there for the kids in need. Whether it’s a stranger’s kid or one of my families, I treat them all equally as if they were my own. I would love to get more and more experience while I am in nursing school so being a nanny to new families would really help!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have volunteered at my home church for the children’s ministry for as long as I can remember. I would also volunteer at my little brothers elementary school whenever I had free time. I have an uncle who is a teacher who allows me to be a teacher assistant sometimes as well. I am an oldest child and oldest grandchild who has grown up taking care of my families kids my whole life.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

outdoor activities, arts and crafts, homework, puzzles/legos, watching movies, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Getting to see the kids smile and get excited every time they see me. Just the thought of knowing they’re gonna be well taken care of, looked after, and also have fun at the same time is the most important part. And most importantly gaining their parents trust to put their own kids in my hands.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a cousin who is 3 years old who was diagnosed with autism. I take care of him from time to time and I love him deeply and don’t find it hard to take care of him. I also have another cousin who is 14 who has autism as well and I love interacting with her.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I remember one of my students at church would always see my nails painted a different color, and the next day her mom had showed me that she painted her nails the same color because she wanted to match me. It was the cutest and sweetest thing that I still remember till this day. My students at church also refer to me as “sissy” and it makes me feel like I get to be everyone’s older sister and it just warms my heart.
