My experience with special needs children...
I have helped take care of my aunt. She is 30 now and I have helped take care of her the last 10 years. She has down syndrome, she can't walk or talk.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When I got to sit for my cousin. We spend most mornings waking up watching television. The three of them cuddled up in one chair with their favorite blankets. My favorite moment when I was sitting for my aunt was when she pulled me down onto her bed so that she can get cuddled, hugs, kisses and giggles.
