More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I studied Early Childhood Education at UVU with an associates degree. During my time in the program, I was required to do some student teaching out in the field (real classroom setting). It was my responsibility to plan andprepare the lessons & the teacher observed as I taught lesson plans. These experiences were very beneficial and fun, and greatly prepared me for being the teacher of my own classroom of students.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Indoor games children enjoy playing either with me or other students or siblings are simple board games that challenge knowledge in school subjects. There are many creative, fun children’s computer games (non violent!), that also challenges their brain.
Cooking together is fun. Hide and seek. Treasure hunts. Twister. Outdoor fun is hopscotch, Red rover, going to the park where there’s swings and slides. Getting out in nature is a very important part of every day life for children and adults. Basketball. Playing in water if it’s a hot summer day. Scavenger hunts. Nature walks.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Several things. Their physical safety. Always being alert and responsible in the case of an emergency. Their experiences with their nanny needs to be enjoyable, fun, adventurous, creative. Very young children may need a nap. I believe there’s a time for quiet activities, quiet time. Children are extremely energetic and too much learning and play is tiring for their little bodies and their mind. Even though young children don’t think they need to rest, including sleep. Providing creative ways of having fun always interwoven with learning. Fun. Fun. Fun. Laughter is essential!
My experience with special needs children...
One young boy with minor autism. One young girl who had delayed speech.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I remember when I was in New York as a Nanny for two young boys ages 3 & 5. It was a nice fall afternoon and the weather was perfect. We went outside for a walk, which was in the country where they lived.
We saw a large pile of autumn leaves and we started jumping into the piles over and over. It was so much fun and the boys couldn’t stop laughing 😂!
