A little bit about me

Hi! I’m Alexis! The oldest of seven siblings, too many cousins to count, as well as my parents’ friends’ children - so I was the community go-to babysitter growing up. My all time favorite “jobs” have been caring for children. I put job in quotation, not because it isn’t a great responsibility, but it’s simply too enjoyable to be termed as such. I have a great passion and joy for all small beings. “Alexis” means protector/defender and I’ve always related to that. In the work experience section I called out the times I was “officially hired as regular caregiver”, but my experience spans my entire life, and while I could sit and tell you of the kids I’ve spent time with, this has only allotted me 1000 characters. The most frequent comment on my caregiving experiences has been that the parents have loved the way I loved their children and that the kids enjoy my company and feel comfortable with me. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked as a Floater in a Daycare, briefly. The Floater would alternate classes and stay with the children while the teachers were on break. Some classes were in nap time, some in outside playtime, and sometimes it was lunch/snack time. I truly loved it there as well, meeting all the kids at the center, and I’d have worked there probably to this day had I not moved.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Love is required for growth. Growth is what being a kid is all about. Especially in today’s world, we could all use a bit more love. My only children are my furbabies, but I know how important it is that I can trust the people asked to provide care for them. I am honest, open, transparent, and respectful of the family I work for. I will love your children endlessly but will never cross you in any way.

My experience with special needs children...

I worked as a Behavior Technician for CARD for a short time as well - I only left them because it was a part time position and I do require full time. I love the children I worked with, and because I was a new hire, I worked with nearly all the children at that clinic. I am still sad I was unable to stay with them, as they are such beautiful souls.
