More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Since the age of 12 every Sunday morning have gained experience teaching curriculum in Sunday school classes from the infant classrooms all the to 5th grade. In addition I have been blessed with the opportunity of starting a small daycare in a gym and was given the wonderful opportunity to obtain a CDOS diploma in 2017 for assistant teaching in a special education preschool classroom. These experiences plus working in summer camps every year since the age of 14 and working with children on missions trips within the US and Costa Rica I have gained knowledge on all age groups one on one and in settings where there is multiple children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Some activities I love to do when working with kids is a lot of hands on work. Most of this can be just playing around but I also love to channel their creative side with arts and crafts, music, dance, etc! My most favorite thing of all is when I get to learn with the children myself so I always like to find new things to do and discover so every day can be an adventure.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny for is making sure i take the anxiety and stress off of the parents. I see how that takes over us as adults and it can rule our lives. I want to make everything easier so that at the end of the day the family can just smile and enjoy being a family. I know I have done my job well then.

My experience with special needs children...

I have been blessed with with opportunity to work in a church that has a wonderful special needs program and happen to be very close friends with the director. In addition during my junior and senior year of high school I earned an additional diploma in NY state where I was given the opportunity to put in hours working as an intern at a school for kids with behavioral disorders. Clear View School in Briarcliff Manor, NY let me observe and then teach in their special needs preschool classroom. In addition I worked with the schools music teacher working with all students age 3-21 years old all with special needs and/or behavioral disorders. I am truly so grateful for the opportunities I was given at a young age to discover what my calling is. And I am so excited to now apply what I learned to now a career.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment has to be driving to school. In my last nannying position I worked daily with an 8 year old with ADHD. My way of getting him to school, the thing he hated so much because of the bullies was to get in the car and sing the Trolls soundtrack the whole way. Singing in the car to school with my dad was always my favorite childhood memory. It's nice to know I could bring that joy to someone else on the way to something they dreaded. It's something I live for and I will truly never forget it.
