A little bit about me

Long term professional nanny/ household manager with over 25 years working in Central New Jersey. I have worked with children ranging in ages of 3 months to 19 years old and with the parents to keep a smooth, running household. Along with typical childcare duties, I can prepare meals for the entire family, grocery shop, run errands, work with vendors, laundry, pet care, organizing playrooms, plan play dates and excursions. I have a B.S. degree in Child Development And Family Relations from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and have previously been certified in First Aid and CPR. I am knowledgeable about families that are involved with sports and go to practices and games. Work well with multiple children’s and parents schedules to keep everyone on time and in the right place. Always thinking ahead to foresee possible problems and solutions. I can work well independently but am happy to be given instructions too.
When not working, I enjoy gardening, concerts, plays and the beach.

I have previously volunteered in a preschool classroom, worked as a playground instructor and director, past president and member of the New Jersey Nanny Network.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I truly enjoy working hands on with children where they are exploring the world around them. I like to take children to not only local parks, but also take day trips to museums, aquariums, visiting other family members, arboretums, cooking classes, going to the beach. I also feel it is important to volunteer and work with others to teach children about compassion along with learning good morals and values.

My experience with special needs children...

I have previously worked with children that were diagnosed with ADD and ADHD, had some sensory processing disorders and worked on socialization skills.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have worked as a nanny for many years and I am still in contact with some of the children I nannied for. When speaking with them and they reminisce about activities they did with me and the fun times we had are some of my favorite moments. During COVID, I continued to come into work and enjoyed making homemade pretzels and setting up our own little classroom and art projects. During the month of November, his dinosaur would come alive and cause mischief. This was based off of a book we read, and was something like the elf on the shelf people do at Christmas. The excitement the child would have on his face each morning to find out where the dinosaur were and what they did was very rewarding to me as a caregiver.
