A little bit about me

My name is Crystal Johnson and I just moved to Bossier City Louisiana from Klamath Falls Oregon. My husband is active duty in the Air Force and he is currently stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base. I have been caregiving for 15 years since I was 13 years old. I really enjoy being outdoors and staying active. I have a nine-year-old son who loves meeting and playing with other kids. I also have a dog named Winnie and she is very sweet. I am always willing to help kids with their schoolwork or anything they need help with or if it’s basic learning skills for babies and toddlers. I was a caregiver for seven years, taking care of elderly patients with dementia, and I absolutely enjoyed it.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important thing about being a nanny to me is having patience and providing a safe and loving environment for each child that I am watching. Being kind and having great communication while always staying calm is great for them to feel safe and wanted. Nanny’s and babysitters take that parenting role for a time being while the parents are away so it is important to understand how they feel and making sure to help keep them learning new things and things they are already learning.

I have cared for children with autism so I know patience is virtue. Also, kids with walking abilities, so I ensure they can safely get around and try to help them as well and be patient with them.
