The most important part of being a nanny is creating and maintaining a space that is warm, loving, supportive, and safe. I also feel it is necessary to communicate well and to be open and honest always! It’s also just as equally important to respect rules, schedules, and boundaries of the home and of every family member. I live by the golden rule—“Treat others as you would like to be treated.”
My experience with special needs children...
I am a registered behavioral therapist when working with a BCBA and have worked with children with autism as well as other developmental disabilities. I am also familiar with feeding tubes. I am also comfortable learning, so if there is anything specific that is needed to be done, I’m comfortable with learning how it needs to be done!
