A little bit about me

Hello I'm the Mother of a 15yr old. My daughter and I have a love for music and animals. We have a 3yr old polydactyl cat & a baby hognose snake. I have always had a passion for children. Especially the under 5 age range. It is truly fascinating how the mind develops at that age. I've worked 3 years in a Preschool setting. At my last location I was hired as a Floater. I was quickly recognized by two of their Lead Teachers. Both had approached Admin. They wanted me as their Co- Teacher. I was lucky enough to end up in their 3yr old class. After some time we had been given Teachers of the month! Shortly after that I was asked to help with another class. All of this took place before my 90 day probation. Later I was asked to help in the their 1-2yr old class. And became their Lead Teacher shortly after. I moved up to the next class with them. Now I'm currently taking a break from the school setting. I would like to see what becoming a Nanny would be like. Can't wait to meet your Littles.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've always been the go to babysitter for family and friends. I was a temporary Nanny for a few months for my daughter's Dad & his current wife. This was for their two toddlers. After that I started working in the Preschool setting.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am passionate about music and animals. So most of the time I spend with the little is singing dancing & learning about animals. I usually make songs up to go along with whatever thing we are playing or learning about. And have made up songs for my now 15yr old. That the littles seem to really love. I have a pretty cool insect collection that I love to share little ones. Don't get me started with arts and crafts! Oh yes absolutely love that too. It's pretty fun to see what could put together from around the house to create a master piece! Although my daughter and I love to draw. And she loves to paint. From putting sticks and leaves onto some cool surface to coloring with markers on paper. It's all just an absolute blast for me. Especially when there is a growing little mind working along side me!

My experience with special needs children...

I have not directly worked with special needs children in a work place. However I have spent some time with a few Autistic children in my family. Since I love using every moment as a teaching moment. I be there just hanging with them. Letting explore & just soak in whatever their little hearts desired. My time visiting their families for events or holidays. Would be mainly focused on them. I also had a Stepson with Mild Intellectual Disability, ADD, ADHD, Speech Delay & other issues. I was mostly his main care taker for about 5 years on top of working full time. I worked hard to help him with his disabilities. I also love love being around Autistic children & children with ADD/ ADHD. I don't know what it is, they just absolutely bring just epic amounts of magic to my life. I would love to eventually get some credentials to work with Autistic children and in Speech Therapy.
