Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Always babysitting (including overnights) for grandchildren, and children of close friends. I have also worked with special needs adults ranging from 20-75 yo. I have been a mother for 31 years and continuing!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Walking to the park, arts and crafts, learning about the little things in the environment, playing with toys, puzzles, coloring all of that fun stuff! I also enjoy baking cookies, brownies etc and letting them assist in mixing batter etc, I’m a very hands on grandma and enjoy them participating in everything we do!!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is treating the children as their parents would want and loving them like my own grandkids!
My experience with special needs children...
I have three grandchildren that have ADHD, Autism, and ODD. And in my experience it’s very helpful to keep them busy, and have them do different tasks that are fun, exciting, and new! I just try to engage them in other things to prevent tantrums or other behaviors. I will incorporate anything that you do at home, I will do whatever you would prefer me to do that works for your child.

My favorite nanny moment is seeing the happiness and excitement on their faces when they are learning something new and having fun!
