I am a professional nanny, with 18 years experience. I have worked as a preschool teacher for the military as well as being a professional nanny and household liaison.

I love children and believe they learn best when allowed to engage their senses and explore this big impressive world.

I have had the opportunity to take care newborns, (Including twins.) all the way up to ten years of age.

Working for the military has allowed me to live in South Korea and Japan. I believe learning about other cultures is very important for children.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a preschool and pre-k teacher for the military. I also have been a professional nanny / household liaison for four different families.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love messy hands on activities, that allow a child to roll up their sleeves, get dirty and explore! Homemade play dough, slime, clean mud dirty mud!

I love Science. Insects. Gardening. Books. Painting. Dancing. I believe a child can learn better if they are allowed to be outside exploring.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Helping families. Not only am I a nanny, I am also a family helper. I love cooking and have no problem whipping up three or four healthy meals a week. I don’t mind doing a little laundry. Straightening up, and keeping the kitchen clean.

I know how hard it is to juggle work and family life. I get a lot of satisfaction from knowing that I am making my family’s lives a little easier.

I love children. Nothing is more satisfying than seeing a child learn and discover new things!

My experience with special needs children...

As a pre-k teacher, I had a few students who were autistic. I also have experience with twins. I’ve taken extra classes on inclusion and behavioral issues.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Because I believe children learn when allowed to be outside, we come across a lot of animals! One year we befriended a couple geese. At first they were timid. They would fly away every time we would go outside. We started taking grapes and celery out with us. We would leave the treats out on the grass by the pond. Slowly the geese started staying around. They started coming on the yard. We would talk to them and eventually they started eating right at our feet!

One day the children went out ahead of me. The next thing I heard was “Mimi! They are on the deck! Quick, bring their grapes!” I looked out the door and the geese were flocked around three surprised children, honking for their treats!

The children learned a lot that year. They learned that being kind and patient is something that pays off. They learned about what geese like to eat. Their mannerisms. How they live. We named our geese Jack and Jill. This will always hold a special place in their hearts! Memories made!
