A little bit about me

Hi there, I’m Dani! I am an early childhood education professional from Grand Rapids, MI, with a background working in industry leading Learning Centers here in Grand Rapids, private nannying, a mom of one adult child currently attending Grand Valley State University, as well as regularly caring for my 6 nieces and nephews that are currently ages 2-12.

About 10 years ago I shifted my career to working in project management for a large, international company, and most recently spent 5 years managing a boutique hotel in downtown Grand Rapids.

My heart has always been with working with children, and I am excited to get back to fulfilling my calling!

I am preferably seeking a nanny family to make a long-term connection with, but I am open to other arrangements for the right kind of family!

I am a highly organized and methodical caregiver, that values fostering an enriching environment for happy, healthy kiddos!

I have experience working with families of many different backgrounds, including international families that have recently come to live in the US.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am a low (or no!) screen time advocate, and love to get kids immersed in real play. I enjoy outdoor play, planning art and sensory activities, and even following educational curriculum if you would like to partner in that!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is building a productive, trusting, respectful partnership with your nanny family parents. The foundation of that is clear, concise, and free flowing communication! I want to uphold your parenting style, make your lives easier, and keep your children safe and happy!

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with children with many different physical and mental ability levels, chronic health concerns, including participating in occupational and physical therapy practices at home.

While there are many medical needs that I can support day-to-day, I am not a medical professional. Depending on your needs I may also be willing to complete training on how to safely support your child’s (or household’s) allergies, or medical concerns, as long as those needs are safely managed without advanced skills.
