Hi!
I am from NC but have lived in VA for the past couple of years and then moved back to NC this past summer. My husband and I love little adventures from trying new restaurants to concerts to going to a symphony (we are not even the symphony kind of people but it was fun). I love my family and friends and fill any free time I have to hang out with them.

I would love the opportunity to nanny for a family because I adore working with children and providing opportunities for them to develop. I would be grateful to work one on one with kids in helping them learn socially, academically, and emotionally.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I received my bachelor’s degree in Family and Child Development with a minor in American Sign Language. I am currently working towards my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with the long term goal of becoming a Play Therapist.

I was a nanny years ago and enjoyed being around kids and coming up with way to keep them entertained, especially in the summer. I worked as an after school teacher for a few years and enjoyed working with a variety of ages.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am a fan of getting to know each child personally and incorporating their interests into activities. If they love music then it’s fun to incorporate that into tidying, playing, or learning. Activities should balance being at a comfortable level for the child while safely letting them experience something new in a fun way.

I also like to try Pinterest ideas and do a fun and creative activity frequently. One of my favorites to do with my nieces and nephew is tape streamers in the hallway and pretend they are lasers that you can not touch, complete with hype music playing.

Exploring and letting the child use their imagination is also important. While I like to do activities frequently, it is fun to let the child lead in activities too.

The most important part about being a nanny...

With the focus being on the children, providing opportunities to learn and have fun should be done frequently. However, providing a safe and loving environment is my priority.
