Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I am especially fond of special education students, and have worked as an elementary teacher for 29 years. I have taught grades K, 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th and 8th. I taught 5th grade for 13 years and was on a co-taught special education team for 5-6 of those years. Those were the best years of my teaching career. I enjoyed teaching in the same school my own sons were attending until they moved to Catholic HS. We traveled for football, basketball and baseball for many years.
My sons are ages 27 & 25 and my daughter is currently a junior at Lansing Catholic. I received my BA from MSU and an MA from Lesley University.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Coloring, puzzles, baking, listening to music and jumping on the trampoline. I have coached Girls on the Run for 3 years. I also love doing hair.

Were always in an educational setting but I currently babysit an autistic 7 year-old boy.
My oldest son had an IEP for speech, learning disabilities and dyslexia. He received intensive tutoring and was reading at grade level by 5th grade. My youngest son graduated from the
University of Nevada last year and is working his dream job in Reno today. My daughter takes AP and Honors courses at a private Catholic High School.
