Hi! My name is Danni. I am currently an instructor with Valley View Montessori Extended Day. I have a morning kindergarten class. During the summer, and afternoons during school, I like to share my love of children with other families. I have experience with children from 0-5 years of age. I am familiar with diapers and potty training. I have a current CPR and TB test. My educational background is in government and Early Childhood Education. Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I teach the children theme-based arts and crafts, i.e. holidays and seasons, but also random activities like how to make a sun catcher or spring-body dogs. There are so many fun activities the list never ends.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with a child with special needs was last semester during my kindergarten class. A young boy started my class with impulse control issues, violent behavior, and eloping. He was placed on an Individual Education Plan (IEP) early in the year. His parents, doctors, and I worked with him to improve his behavior and understanding of the safety and classroom rules. He would come sit at the table with the other kids during our project time, and by the end of the year his IEP expired and was not renewed. Patience, firm guidelines, and a strict routine allowed him to develop the skill necessary for a successful day.
