My relevant experience includes working professionally in childcare settings with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children, where I supported daily routines, developmental activities, meals, diapering, naps, outdoor play, and creating a safe and engaging environment. I also have many years of babysitting and nannying experience with children of various ages, beginning when I was 14. Through these roles, I’ve gained experience adapting to different children’s personalities, developmental needs, routines, and family preferences. My Early Childhood Education background has also given me a strong understanding of child development, positive guidance, and play-based learning.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing activities that keep children engaged, creative, and having fun while also supporting their development! Some of my favorites include arts and crafts, sensory activities, reading together, imaginative play, baking, puzzles, music and dancing, and age-appropriate games. I also love getting outside for walks, trips to the park, nature activities, and other little adventures. I enjoy following each child’s individual interests and finding creative ways to turn everyday moments into opportunities for play, learning, and connection. Most importantly, I want the children in my care to feel comfortable being themselves, exploring their interests, and having fun!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, trusting, and nurturing environment where children feel comfortable being themselves. Parents are trusting you with the most important people in their lives, and I take that responsibility very seriously. To me, being a nanny is about much more than simply supervising children—it’s about building meaningful relationships, supporting their development, encouraging their independence, and being a consistent and positive person in their lives. I also believe communication and trust with parents are incredibly important so that we can work together to provide the best possible care for their children.
My experience with special needs children...
Through my Early Childhood Education training and professional childcare experience, I have supported children with a variety of developmental, behavioral, sensory, and communication needs. I believe strongly in meeting each child where they are and adapting my approach to their individual strengths, needs, and comfort level. I use patience, positive guidance, clear and consistent routines, and developmentally appropriate strategies to help children feel safe, included, and successful. I’m comfortable working alongside families and following established routines, strategies, or support plans to provide consistent care. Above all, I approach every child with compassion, respect, and the understanding that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to childcare.
The most important part about being a nanny...
It’s hard to choose just one favorite moment! Some of the most meaningful moments for me are when a child I’m caring for begins to truly trust and feel comfortable with me—whether that’s running to greet me when I arrive, asking me to join their favorite game, showing me something they’re proud of, or coming to me when they need comfort. Watching children learn new things and seeing how excited they are to share those accomplishments is incredibly rewarding. Those little moments of connection are what remind me why I love working with children so much!
