Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I volunteered in something called work buddies at school. I would take care of children with disabilities during my lunch period for a few weeks. I also worked in a summer camp where I learned how to instruct a large group of 7-8 year olds. I baby sat children at my church & other kids outside of church or camp.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I like to play games! Board games or even trying to teach them a hand game is always fun. If the child enjoys cars or any game I’ll play it with them. I usually ask them to teach me how to play the game so there is more interaction & so they feel more comfortable . Building games is also fun or just outside activities!
The most important part about being a nanny...
being a part of the child’s development is very important! When parents are not around the nanny is around & if the child is not doing something right it is the nanny’s job to sit them down patiently and kindly and tell them it’s wrong. This contributes to their growth and development.
My experience with special needs children...
I volunteered during my lunch periods in high school to be with children of special needs. I also volunteered in gallop nyc horse ranch to help children with disabilities ride horses.
The most important part about being a nanny...
In summer camp on the last day my kids all hugged me and that was very sweet and memorable. A funny moment I had was when two boys held onto my legs, so I can walk with them on it! We were careful of course but it was a funny moment.
