While in high school and when I am home on breaks I volunteer at my local church as a child care giver during church services. While volunteering I will have 10-20 kids at one time with ages ranging from infants to 13 years old. The last two summer I have also worked as a swim instructor with a majority of my clients being kids ages 6 months to 13 years old.

The most important part of being a nanny is keeping a certain boundary so the children still respect but also being their friend and making sure they like having you there.
My experience with special needs children...
In high school every year I attended Night to Shine prom as a date for special needs kids and adults. At my job as a swim instructor I would have a lot of special needs kids that would take lessons as a form of therapy so I am very familiar and comfortable.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I can’t say I have a favorite moment but I just love getting to spent time with kids and make it seem like I’m their friend rather then just a babysitter or nanny.
