A little bit about me

Hi,
I am a mom of many, who has been in childcare since I was a young teenager.
Most of my kids are now young adults.
I am back in college to get my bachlors degree, but I plan on being a nanny for the next 5 years.
I have always enjoyed children and I love playing pretend.

I am a hands on nanny. No matter the age, I engage with the children while I am with them, and help them to learn through play. I am great with all ages.
However, I have a soft spot for newborns.
My goal is to start with a family while their baby is still little, and watch them grow as I teach them along their way. A child is never to young to start learning.
I have experience with preemies and multiples. I teach baby sign language and help the family to get into a good routine with their new addition to the family.

I work with a family now on tues, weds and Thurs. I am looking for 10-20 hours to add to my schedule on Friday and Monday. With weekends possible.

I have multiple certificates in ABA therapy, and I have worked with Autistic children from 2 uears old and up, as well as children with CP, MD as well as other less able children.

I teach babies sign language from a very young age, as well as other languages the parents wish for their child to learn..

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Depends in the age, but I believe that your never too young to learn. I am currently teaching a 10 month old sign language. I like to engage with children, and I have a hands on approach. I love pretend play, tea parties etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Connection with the family is most important to me.
I think a family and their nanny have to be right for each other. The personalities and family values should line up.
Also, being involved and engaging with the children is crucial.

My experience with special needs children...

Autistic, CP, MD and other less able children. I grew up with 2 friends that had MD, which I was responsible for a lot, so from a young age I have experience with less able children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments are when I look a the child's expression and see the click. Something new that they understand. Watching a child blossom is an amazing thing
