Hi there! I've been married to my husband for 25 years December 1, 2021 and cannot imagine life without him! We have no living children, but are the best Aunt and Uncle ever to our 4 nieces and 3 nephews. We lived in Kansas for most of our lives, but 5 years ago decided to move to South Texas to be closer to 3 of our kiddos, and we absolutely love it!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been working in the education field since 2010 and most recently working as a Nanny and Lead Pre-K Teacher at an Early Childhood Learning Center. Previously I was working as a Substitute Teacher at all the schools in USD 210 Hugoton, Kansas. Before that, I worked as a Special Education Para in an Early Childhood Development Center and also working with children with ASD doing ABA therapy. My first job working with children was as a Nanny for 7 years. I have a current CPR and First Aid certificate, a reliable vehicle with clear driver's license, and a clear background check. My Associate's Degree is in Early Childhood Education and I'm hoping to finish my BA online in the next couple of years. Looking forward to meeting you and your precious little one(s)!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

The teacher in me loves to do activities, applicable to every developmental level, that help children reach those important goals! I enjoy teaching the fundamentals, and then building and scaffolding based on those foundations. Activities would include tummy time, educational games, the ABC's and 1-2-3's, singing and dancing, all kinds of fun play, sensory time, taking walks, swimming, and going to the park.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My husband and I, have no living children of our own after years of infertility and loss, so being able to love and care for other people's precious little ones is not only an awesome responsibility, but also an amazing blessing!

My experience with special needs children...

My first Nanny job was with my niece, Emma, my hero, who has ASD, vision issues, cerebral palsy, anxiety, and ADHD. She just graduated high school and turns 18 this month. I have done ABA therapy with children both in a school setting as well as in-home. I have learned some Braille and some sign language so that I can communicate with people with vision and hearing loss. I have worked with kids with asthma, alopecia, allergies, diabetes, and severe disabilities also. Everything I can teach can be adapted for a child of any learning ability!

The most important part about being a nanny...

There are so many! If I had to choose just one, I think helping a family use sign language as a means of communication with their nonverbal 3 year old! The joy for both the parents and the child will forever be in my heart!
