My experience with special needs children...
I was blessed to care for a child with cerebral palsy that was 2 years old at the time and also a twin. ( The twin sister was not special needs) During the time I cared for him I taught him how to use silverware properly as well as drinking from a cup. Additionally I started trying to integrate him into using his walker to get around instead of crawling. Today he is a fully functional young man with a family and very well grounded.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment would be reuniting with the child I cared for many years later to see that they are well grounded individuals. Also to learn from them the impact I had on them as a child. Blessed!!
