More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I grew up caring for kids voluntarily, since the day I can remember being old enough.
After going to college, and trying a few other job choices. I found my way back to pursuing a career in the child care industry.
First I started off, working at a day school, with a class room of toddlers (1-2) following & teaching them the curriculum for 2 years.
Then, i came across opportunity of becoming an in home ABA therapist (still in the works of being RBT certified), teaching kids on the spectrum basic life skills needed to be successful in their future. As well as implementing goals written in their treatment plan.
For both jobs I happily & creatively enjoyed devising interesting educational activities, where each child had fun. & even looked forward to seeing me after each and everyday we spent together.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

When it comes to play, I usually like to follow their lead.
But if they need to be lead into an engaging activity;
(Indoors) I usually try leading them (according to their age and skill level)
building/ connector toys,
fun holiday/ seasonal crafts,
Board or card games,
Coloring, reading, or drawing,
And creatively make use of the toys they have creatively coming up with different ideas to engage in them- if I notice they seem bored. Etc,
(Outdoors): I usually lead them (again according to their age)
Flying kites,
Going to the park,
Riding bikes,
Kicking or throwing a ball,
Water balloon/gun fights,
Chalk & making a chalk obstacle course with them,
Bubbles. Etc

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making an impact being apart of children’s lives, teaching them skills that will be applied all throughout life, as they play in a natural environment.

My experience with special needs children...

Yes, I’ve worked with kids on the spectrum some mild/ some severe cases. Some with severe behavioral problems others with very little behavioral issues.
