A little bit about me

Hello my name is Derry and I am 41 years old. I am a high school graduate of Haltom High School the class of 2002. I am CPR, First aide and AED trained. I have been working on some course work online about all ages and nanny courses. I have been babysitting since the age of 13 but I started working for Children's Courtyard in 2008 until 2013 when I became a lunch lady then I still date night sitted and worked part time with families. I have worked with all age groups including 6 children at a time. Since 2017 I have been date night sitting and short term jobs I love doing arts and crafts with children I think its really fun. I enjoy watching movies and having a popcorn! I love to dance to music I think its a big part of life and children should grow up listening to all kinds. When I'm not working I like to hang out with my family and 2 dogs. I have references upon request. I currently work full time at a daycare working with all ages but I work with ages 3 and up.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked at Children's Courtyard 2008 until 2013 working with all age groups. Then I was a lunch lady until 2017 and that's when I became a nanny. While I worked at the school I did watch children still after I got off of work. I have been date night sitting still. So I love working with children . Right now I currently a teacher at a daycare. I work with all age groups but mostly with 3 and up.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I like to do arts and crafts. I love reading books to kids I really enjoy that. Its very calming. I like to go out doors and play different games like look for different bugs and stuff. I also like to watch a movie and have some popcorn that's always fun!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is watching children grow and thrive. I love when a child can read a story to me or draws me a cute picture. I think that's one of the best things. I have a passion for working with children.

I have worked with autistic children and children with trauma and abuse. Also behavior problems.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The best moment was when we made rice crispie treats and the time we made soap that was fun the kids loved it.
