More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I am now 31 and am the oldest of my mom's 7 children so I have a lot of experience with children of different ages, since my mom worked and someone had to take care of the littles when I got off school. I started child care for other families, including neighbors, as young as around 10 years old. I babysat other families kids throughout high school as well. I also was the child care provider for three children (infant, 3 year old, and 8 year old), not including my own 3 year old at the time, which was about 4 years ago. Around 3 years ago, I also provided care for two young girls (2 year old and 6 year old), along with my son simultaneously. Recently, I was a live-in nanny for 2 awesome boys (6 and 8). My 8 year old son is with me at all times, who is autistic and very hyperactive, so I've had my share of experience. My son is homeschooled so our schedule can sometimes be flexible.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Kids love the outdoors... Well, sometimes. Sometimes my son just wants to stay inside but he also loves the playground and having fun outdoors in various ways. I love the outdoors myself and we’re supposed to get vitamin D from the sun everyday. There is so much life experience that can be learned and made being outside and involved with nature. There are so many activities that can be done outdoors like playing with different kinds of bubbles, having picnics, water-sliding, races, sports, other exercises, tons of different games, and so much more.
For indoor activities, some fun ideas are playing board games, the floor is lava, video games, card games, painting, puzzles, baking, playing dress-up, playing kitchen or restaurant, playing with toys and imagination, and there are always other things to do as well like art and craft projects.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I would say that the most important part about being a nanny is to know that the children know themselves that they are loved.
My experience with special needs children...
My 8 year old is an amazing and gifted young boy with his own unique autistic abilities, and ADHD. He has lots of energy so he gets distracted easily but is so brilliant and amazing in many ways. The distraction thing is just something he has to learn with time and repetitive reminders.
I also took care of a then 8 year old girl, about 4 years ago, who has her own beautiful autistic nature. She was probably the sweetest 8 year old I have ever known and I miss her so much.
In high school, I also helped to take care of my adult cousin who has her own unique gift and personality with a rare syndrome.
Another note to add is that my adult son also has his own as well and has overcome much of the struggles that made some things difficult before.
I have seen my share of many unique traits and personalities, in the children and adults mentioned above, as well as many others. I’ve learned that we just have to figure out what works best for them, while also teaching them right from wrong.

Ooh, it's hard to pick just one favorite memory... The most favorite memories were probably when I took them to the playground. They all would have so much fun together and just loved being there.
