I’ve been a daycare teacher at little wellspring daycare and Cobb discovery both located in Oregon. I’ve done tons or babysitting jobs. I am now a stay at home bonus mama and loving it. I’ve worked with kids ranging between 6 weeks up until 10.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Going to the park, playing outside, stomping in puddles (with parents permission), coloring, painting, reading books, doing art crafts, having a movie day when they’re feeling under the weather, letting older kids help me bake or cook, teaching basic baby/toddler signs to those who need it and getting down on their level and playing with them.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Letting children learn through playing and being able to let them experience different things whether it be through art or science or play.
My experience with special needs children...
I grew up with an autistic stepbrother and would help out with him until our parents divorced. I also helped my disabled uncle from about 5 until he passed when I was 10 or 12. In a daycare setting I’ve worked with kids on the autism spectrum and with kids who had speech delays.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment is building such wonderful bonds with the kids and then being able to build strong bonds with their parents. I love being able to help them grow and watch them accomplish new things as their learning and growing.
